For Time/Play, associate professor and violinist Natalie Lin Douglas examines the textural, timbral, and narrative possibilities of the violin, percussion, and piano configuration. The project builds on Lin Douglas and her collaborators’ recent recording of Theo Chandler’s Time Pieces (2024), for violin, percussion quartet, piano, and spoken word. The 2026–27 project centers on the rehearsal, performance, and recording of a second new work: Daniel Temkin’s Stolen Time (2026).

GOBI CANTICLE brings together eleven works for violin, viola and violin, and violin duo by ten composers of Asian heritage, many presented here in first recordings. Performed by Natalie Lin Douglas and Patrick Yim, long-standing advocates for new music with extensive experience commissioning, premiering, and recording contemporary repertoire, the album spans a wide expressive range from ritual and folk-derived sound worlds to contrapuntal studies and contemporary virtuosity.

Bringing a fresh perspective to the Romantic string quintets of George Onslow, Ensemble Telos unites five distinguished musicians from leading international institutions: Patrick Yim, violin (University of Notre Dame); Natalie Lin Douglas, violin (Massachusetts Institute of Technology), Eric Wong, viola (Vanderbilt University); Jamie Clark, cello (University of Iowa), and Matthew Baker, double bass (Berklee Valencia). Their first CD, featuring Onslow’s string quintets No. 14 and 24, was released by Naxos Records in January 2026.
